Stepping into Pioneer Pizza in Punta Gorda, I was immediately welcomed by a warm and lively atmosphere—a perfect setting for a relaxed meal. We kicked things off with two standout appetizers: the Fried Goat Cheese and the Breadsticks. The goat cheese arrived with a perfectly crisp exterior, giving way to a creamy and tangy center that was both indulgent and balanced. Paired with the house marinara, it was a rich yet light way to start the meal. The breadsticks, fresh from the oven, were golden, soft, and irresistible when dipped into the accompanying garlic butter sauce. For the main event, we ordered an XL pizza half Jersey Meatball and half Chicken Alla Vodka. The Jersey Meatball side was pure comfort—juicy, flavorful meatballs nestled in a bed of melted mozzarella and a robust tomato sauce. The Chicken Alla Vodka side took things up a notch with its creamy vodka sauce that perfectly coated the tender chicken slices. The combination of flavors was a delightful contrast—one side hearty and classic, the other rich and slightly indulgent. Pioneer Pizza delivered not just on taste, but also on experience. The variety in their menu and the quality of each dish made this visit more than just a dinner—it was a culinary adventure. This was my first experience at the PG Pioneers and they did not disappoint! I tried the original Pioneers location years and years ago but was disappointed and never returned. The experience at the PG location, however, was nothing short of delicious and fun.

We have had most of the pizzas of interest in PG, but we had not yet been to Pioneer Pizza. We were told by an acquaintance of my wife that they did not like the food. They are wrong. Pioneer Pizza has great pizza, and the fun atmosphere is family friendly but also good for those wanting good food in a low-key relaxed setting. Our server,Hannah, was super. She knew the menu, made suggestions, and was prompt and attentive. What else can you ask for. She got a few larger tables right after us, and our service never suffered at all. She is great. Thank you! Reasonably priced, great food, great service. Works for me!! Lesson? Get smarter friends! Cheers UPDATE 9-29-2024 Since our last rime in, we have picked up weekly and continue to be impressed with everything. Sunday, we stopped after a day of running errands, and we were blown away again!! Erica was our server and ambassador of goodwill!! She was super busy running all over the dining room and did not miss one step with our or any other orders we observed. We tried a new starter, and OH MY, this was INCREDIBLE!! The Meatball Sliders are everything and then some. Imagine a wonderful, tender, flavorful meatball (3oz each) with whipped ricotta and mozzarella on a house made garlic knot. Seriously. In some places, they would try to impose a law for being too good! We had a Cesar Salad that we split and of course an XL pizza because, we WANTED leftovers for the next day. What a great group of people. What great food. WE WILL SEE YOU AGAIN SOON!!!!

Love this place. Great food and servce. We've had a different waitress every visit and they have all been top notch. Pizza is really good, but the stromboli is my favorite. Not stingy on their wine pours either.

We have been to this location a few times, the Pizza has always been good, the only thing is the air conditioning is NOT so good. We have been going to their smaller location because of this.

Great pizza! I ordered all meat with onion and it was delicious. Very filling. I highly recommend this place for a good piece of pie!

Hanna was my server, best service ever! great personality and amazing attitude! im very specific with my order and her and the kitchen nailed it! i love me a big stromboli. LIVE LOVE LAUGH STROMBOLI was so amazing & i got a cannoli to go for dessert ! 10/10 stars

We got fried calamari and some sweet chili wings that were amazing! The servers were very nice and everything came out super fast and the appetizers were hot and tasty. The pizza was kinda of a let down it wasn’t the worst but it just fell apart quick and didn’t have the most flavor. Definitely not a bad meal at all though
